In addition to Delta Sigma Pi, I am a part of the Professional Leadership Program at UNT where I get to learn and experience aspects of the business world in a real world and hands on way. PTBAD!
Within my position, I am responsible for a variety of duties. First priority is the safety of the resident. I perform monthly safety checks to ensure a safe living enviornment with all safety equipment up to date and working properly. I serve as a go-to person for the residents of my hall in terms of maintanence issues and questions for just about anything, acedemic, social, person, etc. My position serves as the connection between the central housing department and the residents, or ultimately their customers, and therefore I work as an advocate for the voice of the residents and their needs. I often work our front desk providing serve not only to our residents but also potential residents and families associated with them both. On the more social and fun side of the job, I am responsible for putting on multiple programs every semester to not only encourage and help build social connections between our residents but also to encourage acedemic and professional success.
I began as a server and was quickly promoted to a Trainer in which I trained 20+ new hires on the policies and procedures within the company. I further promoted into the Head-Wait position in which I acted on behalf of the company to both collect the money owed to the restaurant by the servers as well as pay out the tips from the night to the proper server. In this position, I was entrusted with hundreds to thousands of dollars belonging to the company. I was entrusted with this same responsibility when I was promoted further to a bartender. This is where, more so than any other position I worked within the company, customer service, efficiency, and accuracy was essential to keeping the company and the shift running smoothly.
*Note: I still work here seasonally when I go home for summer and breaks.
I started as a Bread Girl, cooking the bread and serving it to the customers and quickly was promoted to work as a cashier collecting payments for customer meals. Following that, I was promoted into the To-Go position.
